    Thats a really cool pickup!

  3. This Car was built by Don Coleman and owned by Neal East for many years. Well it has made it's across country and has been in Connecticut for a while. I have been driving it almost daily and will be doing a mechanical rebuild this winter. Nothing cosmetic.

  6. A good buddy of my dad's built this car in the 60s when he was a teenager. He sold it and later bought it back and restored it exactly as he built it back then. The engine and rear are hard mounted to the frame, it was built for the strip only. The owner/builder is on the right in the first picture. The second pic is him at the strip in the 60s along with some of his original trophies.

Did you asked him what it ran the 1/4 in???

  8. Yeah but I can't remember off the top of my head. He said it was scary fast, and it would shake your fillings loose.

I love this thread so will put my 2 cents worth in. Coupe last painted in the mid-60's. Still has early 60's interior with 49 Merc dash. Sedan was built in the mid-70's. Burnt orange highback buckets are gross but cool all at the same time. Thanks for looking.

My '30 roadster was built by Bruce Young from Chattanooga, Tn. He bought it from the original owner, a doctor on Signal Mtn, as a stocker in '53. The transformation to what you see today started immediately. The car was first driven as a Hot Rod in '57. Bruce had no idea what happened to the car after he sold it in 1961, and hadn't seen it for over 50 years until Jan '12. It's a different color now, but other than the air cleaners, headers, and alternator, it's mechanically the same as he built it in the '50's. Stroked Nailhead, 6x2's, '37 Lasalle trans, and Lincloln Columbia 2-speed. This car has been all over the country and luckily ended up back right where it started.

My '29 roadster was found in pieces in a barn in Sparta, MI. a few years ago and put back together as it would have been raced in the early '50's. Basically no modern upgrades that do not belong on there whatsoever. Souped up Winfield banger, 2x2's, big Winfield cam, and full length chrome header. Nothing has been restored, just preserved as is.

  24. This is Canada's "oldest most original" hot rod that I am going to get back together for spring. Originally built in the 50s and has been untouched until some moron decided to take it apart. Luckily every part is still with the car and It will be put back just as it was. Oldsmobile 303, 39 trans and all that fun stuff.

  25. My 34 Ford pickup, its been sitting for 51 years before I bought it last fall. Titus and I are getting it back on the road. The last time the truck was out in public was for the 1963 GSTA show. We will have it at the GSTA show hopefully all together this year 51 years later with his 34 coupe survivor.

Cars that my grandpa built the coupe, my great uncle built the 32 and 30 roadster that was an ex-coupe and had the drag rail. Grandpa sold the coupe in the 60's I still wonder where it that car is.

Here's mine....got it a couple months ago in Ga...I'm the 4th owner...guy I got it from was 80 and just wanted something different.....he had the neatest place you could imagine and a super nice guy...he and his son are both into '32's........the more I drive it, the better I like it......got a George Wallace for President in the quarter window and he ran in 1968...so it must have been built and driving then...the owner before that bought it in 1957...I have his original title also and pictures of it at Bonneville years ago looking the same except for a matching hood. 20140325_183436_resized.jpg 20140325_183512_resized.jpg 20140325_183616_resized.jpg dads%20pics%20002.jpg 20140323_220700_resized.jpg
