Here are six fabulous but forgotten cars from the golden age of hot rodding. Can you help to identify them? Six Great Unsung Hot Rods of Yesteryear | Mac's Motor City Garage.com
All noteworthy cool, yes, but are you insinuating they all could have or should have been considered for magazine coverage back in the day?
Not at all. Working for the magazines, I learned that which cars get in can be a surprisingly fickle and arbitrary process, with actual merit being only one of the considerations.
No it isn't, not even close. http://www.hotrod.com/thehistoryof/old_covers/hrdp_1110w_hot_rod_covers_1950s/photo_28.html
Bill, thanks for sharing! Those are great shots, of real cool cars. I would like to know where that picuure was taken, and that guy was doing goooood! Eric
I have been looking at and I think I have an explanation. We all know how hard it is to find a set of headers we really like. I think most of the mods were made to create some clearance for the long tubes he found...LOL! WHAT A RIDE!
Thanks! Part of the motivation in doing the story was to see if we could learn any more about these great cars. Seems we may have done that in one or two cases, stay tuned.
There are so many things to marvel at here...the rear springs...the spare tire...the Model T front axle. Boggles the mind.
Wanted to be sure to thank you for your encouragement. I am so grateful there are people to share this stuff with. Thanks to all of you for your interest.
Hope I am not talking out of turn, but I understand there may soon be a magazine story about the car.
I have seen the A coupe photo on facebook and elsewhere, but nobody seems to know much about it. Would love to know who and where.
