thats kinda where i've been floating. with the narrower explorer rear on top of there was already a good bit of space back there with the stock 9" i know theres a good chunk of realestate to fill back there. i missed a pretty decent pair of old cragars that were 15x8.5 with 4" of backspace.

my mock up last week with a coupla rollers last week showed me a tire size change for the rear was in order. i had planned to run 215/70/15 all around, the rollers i had to stick under it have 235/75/15 on them and they sure do fill the wheel openings nicely....ken....

Yea I had to go by inches 26 was the number I did not want to be taller than that so 205 70 15 was what I went with.I did not want to make the Z any taller and the notch any bigger so that was the number.

I have been putting off making a trans tunnel because of this a tall trans bolt in cover (finally got one off evilbay)its gona make this way easy I cut the hole for the Lokar shifter and stuck it on now I can go back and cut all the extra under it off and just leave a flange to bolt it to good thing kept everything I cut out because some of it has to go back in.

I allso stuck the front clip back on for motivation. And I have never seen this truck with a motor in.Made me feel all warm inside to open the hood to a motor.Went to a few machine shops around town to see what I was in for with the rebuild machine work.

I also pick up a core support as the one on the truck is way beyond being fixable it was so rusted this one is really solid only one 2 in spot I need to fix.

So got the trans hole cut out and some 1/4 in round bar welded around the hole.

Parts welded in that I cut out months ago wish I would have had this tunnel back then.and round bar welded around the inside and just a bit of clean up grinding.

Removable tunnel on needs a lot of clean up and that will get done when I get the cab floor stripped at a later date lol.

I am not real sure think they will fit 61-66 most I see have the 4x4 shifter hole on the side allso my guess would be for the auto and 4x4 trucks.

My 73 F100 with a 4 speed had a removable tunnel. Looked a lot like yours.

  29. Anything with a factory floor shift lever of some sort got the removable tunnel. The covers are pretty much the same shape all the way into the 80s; I used one out of a later F150 truck with the non-rail cast iron toploader OD and it bolted in to a '67 with zero mods. Been a long time, but I'm pretty sure these will fit all the way back to '61.

Guess I was not even close lol.Its hard to believe that 61 to early 80s floor is the same or close enough to inter change these tunnels but cool if that is true.i have the motor way up in this thing so it won't hit the ground when down I felt I was lucky that I dd not have to mod it any its close but should be good with the C4.
