Hello. I have a 1954 chevy 235 that has been recently rebuilt with the cylinders bored over .30. Prior to the rebuild I had a single intake with a carter yf 2100s. I would like to install a dual intake and dual carbs. I have read on this forum and elsewhere that dual carter yf 2100s carbs may be a bit too much for a "stock" 235. Dual carter w-1's have been recommended. However, since the engine has been bored over .30 is it still considered "stock"? What would be the recommended dual carbs for a 235 over .30? I have a pair of carter yf 2100s now. I also have one carter w-1 so getting another to match, though a challenge, should not be a problem. My intended use for this truck (a 54 chevy 1/2 ton) is to take to work a few days a week (5 miles one way) and some 20-30 mile trips on the weekends. Thanks.
A .030 over 235 is still a stock 235 ! 3-4 more inches ain't doing much. Check the bolt pattern on your manifold,W-1s use a smaller pattern than the 235 type carbs. 235s in corvetts ran 3 Carter YHs with no issues ,I did it years ago on a 235 and 261.
I run two Holley 94's on my 235 that is .30 over with a 3/4 grind cam. Runs great!!!! Obviously you need the two bolt single barrel 2 three bolt 2 barrel adapters. Vintage speed sells them. Posted using the Full Custom H.A.M.B. App!
In addition to the over .30, there are dual Fenton headers. Pertronix Electronic Ignition with 40k flame thrower coil. Cam is original and has been polished, according to the builder
