65 caddy drive shaft

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by Sean S Parker, Jan 20, 2014.

  1. Can the drive shaft be replaced with one without cv joints?

Probably.......wouldn't be much different than a long wheelbase truck. Cadillac likely used CV joints for an extra measure of 'smoothness' . However, if cost is the driving concern, I doubt you can have the driveshaft either modified or replaced (more likely), and possibly replace the axle pinion flange, for any less money than getting your current driveshaft rebuilt.

The flange on the differential would make it real difficult on that end and spline at the transmission is slightly different than a standard TH400 if I rememeber correctly.
