Here are some current pics of my 40 delivery. I bought it as a project car from curbspeed just over 2 yrs ago, and am now in the home stretch of finishing it! I drove it for the first time sunday. Lots of small things yet to do, I'm not building a show car out of it just a cool looking good dependable driver!! Im taking it in for the front end alignment next week, then the front clip can go on, and just button up loose ends and put on some shake down miles. LOTS and LOTS of hard work in this one!!!

  6. Pretty nice, Rusty. One of these days, I'll have to come down again for a new, improved grand tour. Is the old yard still in business next door?

Yeah, that old yard is still there. They have sold out a few cars and crushed a few too. But still many left. Come on down anytime.

Ed that thing looks really kool. I can appreciate all the work you have done. I recently finished my brothers 40 that sat idle for 50 years. He drives the hell out of it. And a few years back i put together a 47 for delivery, the family had alot of fun with that car! She sure looks good.maybe run into you on the road somewhere.

We are going to put some dummy weight on the front to mimic the front end weight. The alignment head hits the fender since the car sits so low.

Looking good Rusty! It's always fun to get a new car on the road. Hope to see it sometime this summer. Be sure to post some pics when you get the front sheetmetal installed.

Very Nice! You probably want the front clip weight on the car for the alignment.

NICE!!! I always thought a fat fender sedan delivery would be a great long distance event ride. NO need for reservations. Just throw a sleeping bag in the back and you can be your own watchdog over night. Throw one of your buddies with a room a couple bucks to take a shower in his room and your on your way.

Front end is all aligned and good to go now. This weekend it get all the door fuzzies, and windows etc. (dreading that part) and if time allows I will start getting the front sheet metal on. Hood is still waiting for paint, but fenders are ready. I drove it about 10 miles yesterday after alignment. it has plenty of power and rides and handles great!!!

  24. Looks GREAT!!!
What's the story on the Standard & Deluxe grills on the 40 and 41 SD?
Did 40's have the Deluxe and 41's come with the Standard?
    Thanks in advance............cw.

All 40's were deluxe, 41's were left over 40's with Standard grill, dash etc, but the front hood trim is all alone and EXTREMELY rare on the 41 .

  27. Looks good Rusty, I sure wish I could have kept the old girl but too many projects and never enough money. Nice to see a project come to fruition. Did you replace the rear wheel wells?
