then i need some flame throwers desided to go the difficult route and put them in the rear first i have polished the stacks and then weld them to the steel ring and drilled holes and bolted the stainless steel side panel and exhaust ports in place
Love the exhaust tubes!! Will they be functional? I am learning a lot from this build, the little details are awesome!!! Bill
Tips are looking good. Still following along... Thanks for keeping us updated! Posted using the Full Custom H.A.M.B. App!
yes they will, i still need to make the collector box to a single exhaust pipe but will first proceed with the side panels.
some more progress the corvette in the back ground has the same color as the hauler will get (Atomic Orange) combined with metalic black and beige silver. here a sample of the atomic orange in evening sunlight
bought a set of 40's ford car hubcaps to see if i could make them fit to the front wheels , did some measuring to see if the bolts would fit inside the hubcap and then cut the retainer ring off and test fitted them. also made a start on the other side's side panels.
almost finished one side Just another one to go..... also reworked the dash so the ignition switch would fit nicely
Outstanding job Sander! You'll need to hand out sunglasses wherever you go with this thing! Looking forward to see it all together.
First - I've been following your project for a while now. I am really impressed and taking notes for when I finally get started on my project. Awesome work!!! Second - Just an idea... Are you using smooth or brushed stainless? I'm asking because I see the big arrows on the protective plastic, which usually indicate a "grain" orientation to the base material. I would hate to see all that work and material wasted when you finally remove the platic, only to see that something in the panel's finish doesn't line up correctly. Keep up the good work. Way Cool !!!!
it has a smooth finish and will wet sand and polish it out to a nice gloss not high gloss mirror like, also abouth half of it will be painted.
Do you mind showing a picture of how you set up what your screws that hold the side panels are being screwed into? Thank you. Enjoying all the work you have done!
put in the chrome grill inserts to see how it will look the color turned out pretty nice its black but has red and a little green metalic to it
