Nice job there, it will be great when done I'm sure. One of my favorite cars! Street racing SoCal in the 70's reminds me of a guy in Escondido, CA that had one built up like this w/ a 331 ci SBC that really hauled ass.

How did this post go from showing some great work to talking about JJ? Great way for this post to get deleted.

    Getting back on track...
Kail, thanks for posting and looking forward to updates when you have the time. Love the wheel cutouts, and hoping to see a bit more on the front end tilting. Do you need to spread the bottom of the fenders to clear the doors when tilting? How are you latching the front end? Are you using any retainer to keep it from over rotating? Love seeing the thought and details on this car. Gonna be cool

Talk about Jesse on FaceBook or something.. This ain't the place for this.

Kail's been feeling under the weather from what I see. One way or other, I'm sure he will pipe in soon enough. But until then, get better, buddy.

Better yet, come to the LSRU and see the '55 in person. I know I am.

If my math is right by having the pivot point as far forward and low as possible the back of the fenders should clear the doors as it tilts forward. There will be pinned studs in the back of the fender that will help located and secure it.

So much going on, and Matt thanks, I am starting to kick this damn flu.
This project is a back burner, as time is available, we have a goal for roundup to have it running and basically ready to paint or drive around in bare metal if Steve wants to haha.
We have done some mechanical stuff like brakes and such, nothing to warrant a write up. The tilt front end is about 50% once I wrap it up we will post an update.

Jesse is not longer a director at A.S.S. .. this is not the place to further discuss it, especially out of respect for Steve and his build. Further inquiry's can be made through the shop, thanks for understanding guys just want to keep it on topic but I know people are curious :D.

  20. Nice work goin' on there Kail! Thanks for the pics.

I swear the '55 is like the '32. They're done so many different ways, so many times, but people still love 'em (including me...). When done right (like this one, IMO...), they look down right mean. Hang with it man, get to feelin' better. Lookin' great!

  21. Can't wait to see the car at the roundup! It's probably a good thing I don't live closer or I'd be wasting way to much time checking out the car.

When its running again and during LSR wk end you need to park it out front like your avatar is before and after.

Hell, I'll volunteer to help push that sucker out front. Except if I recall right, they won't be in the same shop building come LSRU..

where A.S.S moving? I know the apartment complex going up next to it certainly has to be a downer. I like the old doors, old shop vibe inside.

That's whats ruling my life right now, we will be up and running in new shop end of this month I hope.
Its a cool building that's bigger on a huge lot, it wont be the same ol shop but with all the great things going on it will be part of a great new chapter. Trust me , it will be awesome.

Location to be unveiled shortly, I will say this, We are still South Austin. And South Lamar will all be part of the new yuppie hipster dream, a large sea of apartments that have no soul.
