I have one that I am redoing. Check my pics folder. I'm not sure where I found this one, but I dig the rear bumper/front bumper combo and the trim treatment from back in the day.
I'm not sure what the best way would be. I have cut coils, but I'm going to look at some other options. It's a bit trickier with king pins, but I'm going to look into the possibility of shorter coils and dropped spindles.
I have been doing some research and not much is out there. I looks like there is a stubbed frame with Mustang II but its pricey!
Love 57 Pontiacs--got a Starchief 2 dr ht in summer of 59--ran strong for the time-wish I had kept it. Have an old pic someplace
IMO these cars just need to be lowered to look custom. They're cars that are way overlooked. I wouldn't mind owning one but, you seldom see one for sale around here. Dustin
Mine is mainly lowered with skirts for now. When I finish the 36 I will finish her until then I drive the wheels off of her. .
I love these cars , I'd Kustomize it, small chop , shaved maybe swap chrome on the body panels to a tri five , they're kinda hard to find in California .. Posted using the Full Custom H.A.M.B. App!
Well, I got mine tonight I'm ready to get started on the Mild Custom transformation. Better pics when I can get it outside in the daylight.
And I just did an article on the Jack Van Tassell, Larry Watson painted 1957 Pontiac on the Custom Car Chronicle site. Click the photo to see the article.
I was really jacked to see the silver/white 57 super chief on the 1st page of this thread. I had one identical to it in the early 70s with the 4 barrel/dual exhaust engine...loved it although mine [paid $10 for it] wasn't near as nice as the one on page 1. I don't recall ever seeing another one like it.
Tom: looks like a Dandy! did you see the chrome skirts and lower quarter panel treatment earlier in this thread? wow, loving that have fun Bob
Looks great! I really like the 55's side trim and clean, simple lines. I would never get rid of my 57 but would like a 55 for the wife if I could. Looks like you have a fairly complete car there. If you get stuck on anything, look through my 57 build or PM me.
