Wonder where these two cars are today... maybe hanging from the rafters or sitting in the back of somebody's garage...

The Dodge Fever truck was "Cool Richie Travers". They later changed the name to Dodge Material. Richie is still around, he is a regular at the nostalgia drags.

Thanks for the info Jack. Recognize any of these daily drivers / Sunday race cars?

Baron, I grew up working on Jim Mahan's A/FD, that is where my focus was. I never paid much attention to the door cars, in hindsight I wish I had.

I'm sure that kept you busy. Jim's a good guy. We are fortunate to have him joining the Strokers.

If I remember correctly, didn't Chicky Brignolo built the chassis for this car?

cool pictures I saw the hemi under glass that day there. The guide wires and trees probbaly did not make for the best/safest racing conditions and so forth. But i like the character they brought to the place as opposed to todays sanitary, clean safe look with the concret barriers in place.

I think this might have been Bobby Dininno's Shelby Mustang

  16. Great job with the pictures for this thread guys.
You all are giving me major flashback goose bumps.
Ahhh, to be 23 years old and back in 1970 again.

  17. Baron:That Camaro convertible may have been Bob DeSantis' car. Not sure if the Mustang was Bob DeNinno's or not. The Dodge Charger may possibly be Sonny Blaney's car.

My 65 stang back in 69, never got much chance to run a car down the track as I was usually taking photos. My thanks to Paul for coming up with this shot at the reunion for me.

This came from a old dude down the road from me who raced his 50 Ford flat head powered coupe in D Gas . He thought it was from 1968 ?

Could very well be. These are mine from 1970 with my 55 Chevy that I put together the summer after graduation.

Sublime Green. Wanted to do it Passionate Purple, but the cost of the paint was too much for my budget. I did all the body work, taped it up and a local body man painted the car for me for $50.00, paint and labor!
At 4 seconds quicker, that's equates to only .09 tenths per year !
