I have purchased a set of Firestone Blackwall Bias Ply tires for my very traditional 1934 3 window coupe. I want to paint or apply some sort of ink
pen. but I do not want a bright white, I prefer something that looks old.
any one know of a product like this, Coker tire is out of stock on there pens. and they only seem to show a bright white?

    Thanks

If you would choose the paint made for plastic you would have more of a choice of colors. You could even mix your own. I am sure it would last longer than those pens.
Guys here paint the whole sidewall white with that stuff and love it.

Yup, I use the dover white.

Spray a little in a cup, dab on with a brush.

    Touch up when needed.

I use a white grease pencil that you can get at your local hardware store. It's just what you are looking for, cheap, and easy to apply neatly without mess

Not the best pics .. Sorry

I used plastic paint in a spray can, it's been on there for years, it's faded to a nice ivory, still looks good.

  9. Go to a art supply dealer and buy some 100% acrylic,,later if you get tired of the look you can clean it off with a product called Goof-Off. HRP

The tire pens or grease sticks are very temporary. I've used them often, and in very little time they fade or wear off, and need touchup again.

I used oil based paint for modellers. Brush painted the contour. The colour is creamy. I wanted it to be subtle.

I had decent luck with a Testors paint pen but the first coat turned tan and needed a second application for it to look right.
