Pulled the engine apart today, didnt exactly like what we found. We're gonna have it hot tanked, bored over because of ring wear on the sleeves and put a bigger cam in it

Got the car back from paint, still has to be cut and buffed but she shines with her black dress! that's beautiful. i always thought edsels were kind of funky. reminds me of a time back in the 60s when you almost had to give an edsel away, believe it or not. the guy that owned the local service station (where my friends and i hung out and learned a few things about working on cars) bought a really cherry '58 2-door hardtop edsel for $85. it only needed a water pump. he fixed that and added a dual exhaust with walker continental glasspacks, and it really sounded sweet! but local cops were down on "noisy" pipes, so he cut the mufflers off rather than risk a $15 ticket.

The kind of flake i cant remember, but its a real heavy boat flake. First a silver base goes on, then the flake was shot with clear. Then the lace goes over, and a candy smoke was sprayed. After that it was all covered in candy red

This roof was painted by a very talented friend of ours one of the best in my opinion......Joe Miller....
This is how it was done:
    Silver base two coats
roth monster flake shot in inercoat clear four coats
    two coats clear
    wet sanded
    two more coats of clear
    wet sanded
    taped off panels
    streched the lace (tight)
    two light coats of black
one coat of black with smoke candy
hard line and fade shot with black
    two coats of clear
    wet sanded
5 coats of candy shot in clear base
    two coats of diamond clear
in total time worked you are looking at about 30+ hours in the roof alone.
Very special thanks to Joe for lending his talents to this kids project.

    hello Greg
The clear was all wet sanded with 800 paper final wet sand with be starter with 1200 then on to 2000 before it is buffed. We are going to let it all sit for about a month before it is final cut and buffed two allow for any die back which is to be expected with this much material..... it should look about a mile deep after that.......thank you im glad you like it
