So I'm in the process of disassembling our 29 sport coupe for blasting. The body is solid but has surface rust. I have removed the rain gutters and the panel below the deck lid. I'm debating on if I should remove the T-strips. I don't want any issues later on after the car is painted. Is it possible to seal the T-strips with something to prevent future issues? Something like panel bond? Or should I just say the hell with it and take them off?

    Thanks

Don't not take them off! They are bolted and spot welded in between the body panels. I think any normal prep would be fine.

If your body is solid with only surface rust, you probably don't need to remove them. Taking them off would be a major headache and will probably just ruin them and the quarter lip. I've had my 29 coupe in black paint since 1990 and it still hasn't had a problem.
