gm rearend

Does anyone know what rearend gm used in a 1966 Impala or Belair? Also, what width it would be?

 

no idea on width. Most rears were 10 bolts,but some wagons & ss cars had 12 bolts. Posi rears were available for both 10s & 12s

the chart for 66-67 big GM said "backing plate to backing plate" add 3-4" per drum.

 

63" flange to flange, (without drums) I just measured mine....
