ID my neighbor's true jalopy?

    This is my neighbor's folks jalopy. The plates say 1949. We were trying to ID it and I'm not up to par. I figure the drum style headlights ought to be a trait someone will recognize. Thoughts? This is the only known photo. How about the one next to it? Thanks.

    Hudson, Essex, Packard had those headlights, others?

    It was a GM "Coach" or two door body from '28 back ... the plate was current and the Stude was new.

    I'd guess Chevy 1929-30, color photos from that era are rare. Bob

    Looks like a 1930 "CHECKER" to me.

    Looks like they are enjoying it. Of course back then any wheels was good wheels for a teenager.

    looks like 28 chevy tudor sedan .w roof cut off. gotta see the grille to be sure. 4cyl correct? 6 's came in 29:eek:

    yep - that steering wheel center is unmistakably 28 chev, full crown guards 28+, headlights off something else (not chev)

    My guess, '26-'27 chev. The headlites on 29-30 are diff.
