Ads

I have a new laptop with Win 8. So far I hate it. As I go through pages here there are tons of ads. I don't think these ads are suppose to be here. They never was before. They are down the sides & even in the content of the pages. I installed an ad blocker but although the ads aren't there the box is still there. This isn't a HAMB thing is it?
