That looks really good and always wondered what a 32 with a long a longer hood would look like. Someone thinking outside the box is cool!!!

Looks very nice, any datails on the Bug? Back in 1971 there was a Type 44 that had a rather poor Roadster body of unknown background, owner lived in Hastings on the Hudson, wonder if that his old chassis? Bob

Bugatti guys will hate that,so that's funny right there...but it does make a sharp car, and when you get up enough dough to pay for a coach built body you could recover the cost of the 32...(don't really know enough about Bugatti to tell if it's a real one).

x2 with upsetting the Bugatti owners but who cares. Think 2-3 inches out of the roof would look cooler.

I really think you guys are missreading "Bugatti Guys", bolting a Brookville '32 to whatever that is a Type 44 or 49 will allow the owner to tour with his car for many years, as apposed to having a clone to an original built for far more that the cost of the Brookville. Bob

That long hood, no running boards and a spare slapped on the ass is making for an ugly car. It's a shame on BOTH makes.

McGoo stretched the hood and fenders on a '32 Victoria years ago to fit a a Ferrari V-12 engine. You had to look at it twice to figure out why it was different. Actually made a damn good looking car!

O.K., how can you tell it's a Volkswagen? I gathered from the original post that it's a real one....I can't tell any different. I thought it was kinda neat (except for the spare) from the one picture.

If is the VW kit why does it have big drum brakes and center lock wire wheels as well as what looks like an original Bugatti radiator shell and headlights? Also the VW kits are so called replicas of the Type 35 and are much smaller than this car.
Metal man, if it is not a 32 body what the hell is it.

Anyone want to bet oh, say $5,000.00 it is a real Bugatti chassis? After working on real Bugattis for 14 years you pick up a few bits of knowledge. Bob

Hmmm, not sure where to start but I can tell you it's the real deal Type 49 Bugatti including chassis, running gear, 3.3 litre unblown straight eight, and steel Brookville Deuce body. Original Bug's coachwork was butt ugly so rather than spend cubic dollars to make a new skin the owner opted to be different and I think it's friggin' awesome. Id rather have a one of Bugatti special with a more areocar/ cyclecar styling (the era, I know the Bugatti is neither) rather than a repop Ford body. Id love to own that and peel that body off

How is this a traditional hot rod? It has a new body on a Bugatti frame, How is this any different than a Fiberglass body on a VW pan? I don't see this following rule number 4.

"4. We cover traditional '65 and older American cars only. All other threads will be deleted. We don't cover rat rods, muscle cars, mustangs, or VWs."

Well if using repop bodies isnt traditional enough for you, then a huge number of cars on this site are not traditional. I like what was done but the end of the front fenders need to be tapered for a more finished look.

I think it' a pretty cool cost effective idea that can be undone if money allows...and in the meantime it may aggrivate some suits! Kind of a win/win to me. Just hope the owner did some of the work himself.

I'd be happy just having a few Bugatti parts to hang on my Brookville repop.

After reading this thread I listened to that catchy tune I heard my kids listening to: "I woke up in a new Bugatti". Ace Hood's the man.
