Been stirring up some ideas on what tail lights to run. Also going back and forth on extending and peaking the quarters . So far I've thought of 50s Pontiac lights , 53/54 merc lights . Maybe the shoebox ones ...

No thanks on 59 cad. They only look good on 59 caddys.

Be diffferent. Use 51-52 Chevy. Everything else has been overdone.

Agreed, stay with the 51 - 52 tail lights. They already look good.

This works, looks good, and is traditional, and repops are available so you don't have to use beat up ones if you don't want to. You could use any from '56-60 Corvette and the early ones actually do look good with '59 Caddy lights in them

'49 Buick lights can work too, just don't put the Buick "hump" on there too.

52-53 0lds look nice. Use part of the olds quarters. Others I think look nice are 54 packard, 48- up cad, 54 lincoln (trimmed and untrimmed), 60 olds mounted vertically (up or down), 52-53 kaiser, 56-59 vette, 56- packard, lights in the license guard or over riders, and willys aero.

Also consider some of the Mopar tail lights from the early 50's. Some unusual but cool stuff there.
    Good luck

I always wanted to do vertical shoebox ford lights, but when i got the car it came with brand new stock taillights in a box. So maybe the next version will get them.

49 or 50 Hudson.. Just about fits the body contour and very little metal trimming needs done.. Damn near a bolt on... John

  20. 49 to 51 ford mounted verticle could be blended into an extension.

i always have liked 54 lincoln lights for 50s cars and 54 cad with the gas door in the light.

also bumper guard tail lights are choice!

  27. I was thinking of doing that on my 52. I have the ford wind splits but thought the ford mounted vertical would be classy looking. Not sure what they would look like frenched though.
