I've got a 51 Ford sedan in the shop with the original 226 inline 6. It needs a new carburetor. I've looked place such as Macs and Dennis Carpenters and I can't find a carb that I can just buy outright. They all sell a rebuild service. That is fine but the customer doesn't really want to wait 4 weeks for the carb to get back.

I need a completely remanufactured and restored carb for this car. With a warranty, return guarantee and proper flow testing. Where do I need to go?

Proper flow testing? You could get a kit and rebuild it...

yeah, you're either going to be rebuilding it yourself, or ship it out and have it rebuilt

i have no idea what the hell you mean by "return guarantee and proper flow testing"

Carb Xchange in El Monte, CA. If they don't have one that you can swap, they can rebuild it with a week or so turnaround time. Herman is the guy to talk to.

When I rebuilt my 1904 I was able to get the parts kit at my local O'Reillys, took them 1 day to get it in. Also, do a search on youtube. I found a four part series on rebuilding a 1904. The guy that did it was "Mikes Carburetor." He should have something on the Holley 847 too.

It means what it says. Return guarantee and proper flow testing. They test it and guarantee it will work. What the hell is so hard to understand about that?

Thanks for the help. It needs more than a basic gasket job. I have no interest in rebuilding it but it does need a complete rebuild with all new bushings plus all the proper plating and new pieces and parts. Time to send it off.

It's not a glass bowl Terry. Has your number changed? I've tried to call you a few time in the past couple of months with no luck.

Go to fordbarn site and look for Ken/CT. My brother bought one his rebuilds for the six in his F1, amazing quality. Look him up.
