I buy all of may Weber items from www.piercemanifolds.com in Prunedale, CA. I've never beat their prices. Small but very knowledgeable vendor. Two Model 38's for less than anyone else would quote me. Two more 44's too.
Here is a very early Moon DCOE/DHLA manifold. It is on Ewings TEXAS T. The Moon Man himself either built or had a handfull of these hand built in the mid to late 60's. This is one of them and you can see where it has been heli-arced to the flanges. These are Italian 45MM Weber DCOE's.
Had a single Weber downdraft carb on my iron duke T. Never could get the Rochester to run right, but the Weber is perfect. Just got a 235 Chevy six Fenton manifold with two Weber downdrafts on it. Am setting that up to fit a Super Duty Pontiac four cylinder motor.( if the thread is still up I can send some photos monday)
If anyone is looking for a SBC manifold to run 4 IDF Weber's PM me - I have one available. I am putting the carbs on my SBF so I don't need th Chevy manifold any more.
I have been looking for a CB Performance SBC 4x2 IDF manifold for some time. They are unique in that the runners/adapters aren't cast in, but rather bolt on with three bolts. The base is similar to some of the older mechanical fuel injection setups. Here is an example but this one is for a BBC.
Several years ago I found a CB Performance SBC intake for two Dellorto 2 barrel carbs here on the HAMB. It was for sale in the classifieds and no matter how hard I tried the buyer wouldn't part with it. I offered asking price on my first contact, guess he was just flakey. Isn't that the prototype manifold that never went into production? I have see some un-machined ones at auction. Here is my Buick 231 Inglese setup. There were only 20 or 21 produced.

I have the base of one for an SBC but not the stub inlets - had it in my hand today - PM me if interested. I used to have the 2 IDF in line type from CB Performance but sold it a while back. I also have a collection of other Weber intake manifolds available, SBF downdraft for 4x48 IDAs - both 302W and 351W, SBF 289/302 sidedraft/Crossram for 4xDCOEs, 427FE 4 x48 IDA, BBC for 4x48 IDAs, SBC for 4x48 IDAs, SBC Inglese for 4 x DCNF, SBC Crossram 4 DCOEs, 331/354/392 Hemi IDA, Buick V6 or Chevy V6 - can't remember which, Offy tunnel ram top for 3x48 IDAs, - no Weber carbs for sale - just the intake manifolds - some new, some N.O.S. and some original from the 1960s. Time to thin the herd....
Actually, Jim made a handful of these. He called them the Maserati set. Had to use a special angle dist. drive to clear rear carb. One didn't come with mine, so I used a front dist. drive. He told me they worked really well and are pretty rare.
Interesting information. I wonder why only a few were made if they worked well? Are you using a Jackson or Summers Brothers drive or something else? Beautiful setup you have there!
I thought the 4 x DCNF intake from Inglese was the Maserati set - as Maserati V8s used 4 x 42DCNFs. The V6 Merak/Citroen SM used DCNFs as well. As far as I am aware the only production cars using the three barrel Weber IDAs were the Ferrari 365BB, the Lamborghini Miura P400/400S/SV and early Porsche 911s but they were never used on a Maserati. Aftermarket conversions were also available for the Corvair using the three barrel IDAs but these were never OEM....
Mr Paul 55 was referring to my comment on the DCNF manifold and just didn't edit out my reference to the V6 in his reply. It thru me off at first also because I thought he was saying a Buick 231 had a rear distributor. Then I figured it out. LOL PS: I pm'd you about the manifolds. John
I asked Jim the same thing, and he indicated that the company was sold, hence the short production run. I remember seeing a few of these over the years. Total Performance T and Coddington used one on a car he built. I'm using a Summer's front drive.
I am right there with you. Here is a picture of the Inglese DCNF manifold I mentioned that is up on a well known auction site right now. They have been selling between $300-$400 which doesn't seem bad until you add the cost of getting them machined. But still tempting.
I have an NOS one of those fully machined, fully show polished and micro ceramic clear coated so you will never have to polish it - will take $750 for it. As you may have gathered, I have a thing about Webers....
And then there are the very rare Inglese boat scoops for 48 IDAs. They give an instant vintage feel to IDA setups....
I have a set of four 44,s on my 302 sbf that i spent many hours polishing ,painting and chroming not to mention tunning but it was all worth it in the end it looks fantastic and pulls like a steam train and the sound of all that induction is so cool . I have this set up in my 32 roadster I use to run a bonnet but not any more I wish I could post photos so you could see
I am using this on my next build. Three Weber 48 IDA carbs. Picked up a Grant Flame Thrower to go with it.
Hey Weasel or someone of knowledge Is it possible to run a setup ...downdraft, side or crossram on a mild sbc automatic? What minimum cam ok? stock converter ok? Who's has an affordable setup for my 36 chevy truck?
I love the Weber setups, and seriously considered putting them on my present engine build. The intakes for a SBC are very affordable, but it was the price of the 4 carbs that stopped me. Just more than the budget allowed, so had to nix the Weber idea for now.
