It must be just me but they look Like billit to me very 90's ish. I understand they are cast but look more Ball Milled to me. I think Ellco twin plugs beet em easy in looks IMHO.
He was heavily involved with repopping the Eddie Meyer stuff about 8-10 years ago, but im not sure about the Kong stuff though.
In the recent edition of Rodders Journal they say that SoCal Sacramento have the patterns for the heads and are going to reproduce in the near future. really would like a set if they do.
Nothing drilled... no plug or bolt holes. Eventually I'll use mine for racing and prefer the ability to place plugs and shape my own chambers. I dont have $3200.00 invested.
Their ebay listing ran for a very long time... apparently there is a market? Kong Jackson brought decades of know how to the table, anything else isnt the same... just another SoCal gimmick.
Correct me if I'm wrong but I think these are Kongs. At a little out-of-the-way shop here in N.Z. The ones below the red set. Scotty
From what I understand so cal sacramento own the rights and has all kongs patterns for the heads which they had bought from the family. And will be repoping in the near future.
Gotta agree they are not the best looking flathead heads. That said, if a side by side dyno comparison of them with the other popular brands showed them to be superior in torque and HP I'd buy a set in a heatbeat. Traditional looks is one thing but going fast IS hot rodding........end of story. Frank
I think Mike Davidson's book said they didn't flow as well as Navarros, BUT there is a ton of meat and A LOT of work can be done to them as you see fit. There was a time when Konh heads a two piece design. They were sealed together and them viton seals were used around the bolt holes and spark plug tubes. I don't recall why he made them that way, but I'd imagine there is the potential for a lot more coolant leaks with these heads. Funny, in the early 90's I spoke with both Kong and Barney when deciding which heads to buy. I was only a punk kid in my early 20's and had no idea how awesome these two men were. Both shared tons of knowledge with me, but I wasn't in the mindset to fully realize their wisdom. I wish I could go back in time to redo those phone calls. RIP to two of the flathead greats.
I have spoken to Mike Davidson only just this morning and told him of the interest shown on this Forum, He told me to post his email address if anyone wants to email him direct about KONG HEADS, so here it is [email protected] Regards, larry

How reliable are the dual plug head set up? If you put a set of these heads in a hot rod and wanted the car to be streetable.
A Windy friend of mine in the desert has a set stashed for the The Thing whenever he gets to putting an engine back together for it..
