Here's some pictures of my 36 hudson terraplane. Have always liked the 36 37 Chevy and ford coupes but couldn't afford anything in the condition I got this coupe in so il, try something different. Have chopped it 3 inches in the back laying the back window panel forward and only an inch in front screen and inch out of the roof. The back didn't flow with the roof so had to take 2 inches out of that too. Still not sold on the grill was thinking about making something my self le salle style maybe??? Any comments ideas would be appreciated
Looks awesome mate, the ass end looks as it should have from the factory, bloody good looking body work as well, looking forward to seeing it in the flesh some day. Ps, Im the guy who was looking for the headlight lense and reflectors, you want to sell them yet??
Cheers. Yea mate ill dig them headlights out for you I lost your number. I have two reflectors but only one lense. Jakes down a bit ill give them to him next time he's down. No pictures of the chassis yet jake.
No worrys. 350 and th350 with 6 carb edelbrock x1. I see you have a terraplane grille in one of your photos on the wall in garage do you have any other parts?
That's going to be interesting to watch. You may have to hinge them so they swing up or out from the body or set them up with pins that work like hood latches where you pull a handle to release the latches and take the whole fender off. Or skyjacker style hydraulics that lifts the rear of the car three feet like the Cali lowrider 63 Impalas. Truck bars, bags and a narrow rear end that sets the tires further to the inside than normal might help too.
Holy shit, that ride is amazing, the lines are way better than chevy lines and the whole thing screams art deco style
I think I Got the grill off the guy you got the 36 from, I have a few other bits an pieces, most of which is being used on my Tudor, obviously the headlights, couple of 36 gauge sets etc. Are you replacing the front suspension and steering?
Subscribed. Looking forward to following this thread. Love the art deco look and like Terraplanes in general. The work on the chop and fenders looks very tidy. Hats off to you. Hope you work something out with the rear wheel removal as the fenders look great closed in. Paul. Edit- Forgot to say welcome aboard the HAMB.
It's really nice to see something different. When it comes time to choose wheelcovers, I'd go the "different route" there too. There are tons and tons of neat wheelcovers out there that are rarely used, I'd stay away from the Cadillac Sombrero/'57 Cadillac wheelcover route.
Looks amazing, more pics please. Did that use to be the metallic orangey/brown one that was listed on trademe for a while?
Is everyone living in Invercargill awesome? Something in the water down there me thinks. Your Terraplane is bitchin' in the extreme. Keep the nose though, you don't see them very often, sort of a shame to ditch such a distinctive feature.
