Hey everyone just wanted to say whats up I just started working on my 1960 chevy apache 10 step side. Every thing runs and drives and its automatic. The first thing i will do is switch from drum breaks to disk breaks. would be great if anyone can tell me where to look up these disk break conversion kit thanks in advance.
Welcome. Looks like a nice old truck and you are off to a good start. There are lots of kits and parts houses that can set you up reasonable. Don't forget to swap to a dual master and replace all lines, rubber and metal. While you are at it replace all fuel lines too. None of this is expensive and you'll be glad you did it.
When you pull that Rochester put a webber on it from Langdons Stovebolt. This guy is the man with these old rides. No offense but better then 99% of the advice you will get from any of us. Oh and use an old mechanic, they know what they are looking for in these old mills. Posted using the Full Custom H.A.M.B. App!
welcome aboard ...... i have had a friend that unbolted a mid 70s chevy truck front suspension. and then installed it in their 65 C10 .... or you can go w/ some of the aftermarket opinions that they have .... once again, welcome .....

Welcome to the HAMB. Those 60-62 and 63-66 trucks are easy to update to "modern" disc brakes and power steering using parts from a 73-87 C-10. Here's a step-by-step article that goes thru the conversion: http://www.persh.org/pickup/FrontSuspension.htm The 73-87 front suspension is surprisingly good and is cheap and easy to find. I'm sure a Craigslist search will turn up a cheap parts truck or someone parting one out. If that fails, your local junkyard surely has a half dozen of these trucks.
