Here's the build thread of my first hot rod, it's been 3 years since I found my 31 model A in a barn near Hawksburry,Ontario, I've been working on it since then, with a young family I knew it would be a part time project and my plan was to take it out this summer but I moved and had too much work to do on the house. So I hope it will hit the road next summer! I will post a lot of pics! Enjoi!

    Specs:

    2x3 tubing frame
    model A front crossmember
    Lucky 7 complete front end
chanelled 5" in front, 3" rear
    3.5" chop
    the engine will be a 1962, 327 SBC 300hp (NOT from a VETTE:p)
offy intake and triple deuce holley carbs
    4 speed saginaw
lake headers from Matt @ gear drive speed and custom
    18" Brockman mellowtone mufflers
GM blazer 3.73 diff (might change for 3.42)
Roof skin fro a early 90 cherokee
    Seat from 90s sidekick
had 15" WWW Coker tires and changed for 16" gennie wheels and Excelsior Radials

Nice build! Friend of mine used the roof off a Volvo wagon no problem. I'll be 3 years as well and I'm about 2 weeks till I take mine out for the first time.

Finally, after a long winter here's a little update on the project, some repair done to the steering wheel and I'm planning to slide the engine in next week end.

If your body is not bolted down yet you should turn your shock bolts around because you wont be able to get them out to get your shocks off. Seen it happen before.

I couldn't tell from your pics, did you put a wood header back in, or wood around the roof opening? I was wondering if I could leave that out with the steel roof

No wood at all but I left the braces that were already sticked to the roof skin plus the steel one originally in the sedan, I'll use these to fix the finition panels later. As for the header I plan to put a piece of wood.

Looks cool. I have three quick questions. 1) did you end up with swinging pedals? I see both swinging and through the floor in the pictures. 2) Did you find 5 lug hole 16" gennies or are those 10 hole? and last, where is your fuel tank?

    1) Yes I did end up with swing pedals, it gave me about 5 inches more of legs space and I needed it, my knees were touching the steering wheel, I had not enough space under the car for the underfloor unit it was to tight with the clutch slave.

2)No they're 10 holes gennie from Wheel vintique.

3)Tank is behind the rear seat, not installed yet.

Let me know how the brakes work when you get her going I may want to switch to those pedals also. Can we see a pic of the tank when you get it mounted? Thanks for sharing all your info, much appreciated

  29. Nice car, reminds me of my last two years. I use a master cyl under the floor, but i'm running an automatic so with no clutch pedal i have more room. fuel tank is also behind the rear seat.

Thanks for the reply. I'm planning on a tank behind the seat in my sedan project as well, thats why I asked. I will be running caps as well but those ten hole wheels just bug me for some reason.
