...where they removed the stock front suspension, and installed straight sub rails with a dropped tube axle and 4-bar?, (real low, not nose bleed gasser stance)...it was in one of the Chevy magazines, (Chevy Performance maybe?), I believe in the '80's?...I know, pretty vague, huh?...thanks
Cold be Gary K's black pre pro street killer 55 ...I remember a 56 twwo door featured with it in a mag...I think it had a dropped straight axle, Jag rear..pretty radical car for the late 70's ...
This wasn't a feature, it was a tech article...if I remember right, it was a grey primered 2-door sedan, and they used coil-overs with the 4-bar...
Same setup as the 2 lane / american graffiti 55's... Always thought it was so much cooler then leafs....
MRGASSER, A reply to an old thread over a year ago. Well if you stumble across this thread the magazine is Popular Hot Rodding's 55-57 Chevy, 1980, when magazines were $ 2.75 page 24-27 definitely would have been a cool 55, never seen it finished in any other articles, too bad !!! Norm
Mr Gasser, This is one I modified several years ago using some cast off parts, ( front suspension off of a 33-34 Ford), the offset ends on the 4-bars, fit the angles just right. It is probably higher than you want, however the customer wanted it similar to the "Two Lane Blacktop" car that Richard Ruth built. With shorter front shocks and some changes to the brackets and mounts, a lower stance would have been easier to achieve. Here are some pics.
Found it! It was actually a Popular Hotrodding Tri-Five Chevy special edition...Brandon, check it out...
