Still got your first "Hot Rod" mag.?

I don't count all the ones I had access to via my pop when I was a kid.

I dont actually have the first one I purchased on my own, but I have replaced it ... you know, it was sentimental lol.

 

^^I learned to read on my dads fifties era Spotlight books, Road & Tracks and Car Lifes. My mom still says it was the dumbest thing she ever did...

Thats exactly what my mom said, "if it wasnt bad enough being born into a house that was full of motorcycle racers all the time, I had use car magazines to teach him to read!"

 

Nope, my mom gathered up all old magazines, phone books, catalogs, etc.. and they went to "paper drives".
She found a few Playboy magazines under my mattress once.They didn't go to a paper drive. She burned them in the trash pit, and gave me a morals lecture.

Yes and no,,,,,not HOT ROD MAGAZINE but CUSTOM RODDER,,,I remember my mom buying it for me at Bryant's Pharmacy here in Anderson,South Carolina.

My mom is gone and the Pharmacy is gone but I still have the magazine. HRP

 

Still have mine. Hot Rod 1958 "Testing the 58 Olds" !!!!! LOL

 

John Prine bought 2 HRM every month , the first one got greasy
