Thanks for the pics, what a great time. Was nice to see Steve win the gasser class. He is a great guy who has been running his car for about 20yrs now. Car is always entertaining and he is definately a nice guy. Well deserved win for Steve.
But all the cars were great to watch, some big numbers from the fuelers, exciting racing from the gassers and hot rod classes.
And I saw Goatroper's Olds powered FED rip a 7.16et!!! what a running machine!
    Cant wait for next year.

That body was spinning like a top on the strip. I didn't see it actually come off...I was watching the Camaro sliding down along the wall.

  5. I agree with that. Great coverage of a great event. That is what it was, and is, all about.

  6. Is this event definitely coming back next year??

Awesome pics there Bro and Bucksnort. I'm so glad I skipped work to go up there yesterday. It sure was worth going in today instead. Steve V.'s 55 did some crazy wheelies as did the Tijuana taxi. Too many incredible cars and sights to mention !!!

Thanks for the pictures and also for including our willys. The event was great even with the rain. Saturday was packed and the racing was fantastic.

Not sure. But I was told that emailing the NHRA with positive comments about thes show is a very good way to help get it back. They have not given a definate yet.

I may be a little slow, but what ever happened about the Jungle Jim Vega, his estate and some exhibitor? There was a controversy a while back about the Vega not be what the exhibitor claimed it to be. Also he allegedly was using JJ's name and likeliness without his family's permission. The car being shown at various events was being ported to be a JJ car but his mechanic later said it was not.

I don't know if it went to court or not.

    Anyone know for sure?

Great pics and thanks for posting them.

I have to believe that with the car count they had, they will be back next year. I had swap space A1, and got to see almost every car as they went through the tech inspection... less than 50 feet away.

I would like to thank everyone who has included a picture of our car. It was fantastic having an event like this 2 hours from our house. Usually we're traveling 10 to 25 hours to get to them. Looking forward to next year.

This was my first HR Reunion I couldn't afford going to Bowling Green and I wasn't going to miss my chance to go to this one. I dedicated it in memory of our friend Bobby Lagana Sr. I've lost some close friends in the past few years and felt this was a good way to show how much they meant to me. Some body was watching over us because the MG ran the quickest it ever ran in its life by over 5 tenths of a second, all 3 runs where that fast. We broke out in the first round but where happy as could be.

This is what it's all about. Thanks to you and everyone who brought cars to this event. Especially sticking it out when the weather got bad. I know quite a few stayed at home. Hopefully this will happen again next year and the weather will cooperate. Please take the time to email the NHRA and tell them we had a great time and want it back next year. Here's the contact page.
