It's all original, 216 6 cylinder. Plans are to get it on the road, enjoy it a while, then see what comes next.

That one definitely needs to be on the road. If you get the 216 up and running, you've got a good plan. Run it a while and let it tell you what it wants to be. Rod, Custom, Gasser. Who knows, whatever the the car tells you.

we're the people that drive around, decide to take a different route one day, spy a spot of chrome or a glimpse of a whitewall tire out of the corner of our eye and FIND these treasures.... that's why we ended up on the HAMB. ALL of us are like this!!!

cool catch, bro, and i'm not even a chevy guy. cool catch.

I was storing one of those in my shop for a buddy of mine up intil a few weeks ago. He had gotten his pretty cheap and it was a running car just no brakes.
I like those old coupes and I am a ford guy!!

I'm in Ponca. Thanks to everyone for the good words. I agree that driving the car a while and letting it tell you which direction to go is the ticket.

Good one! Looks like it was kept nice and dry.

Guys...was '40 the first year for Chevy's' A-arm IFS, or was it '41?

Must've been '41 because the 40' has a strait axle and he's going to have a hard time getting past the stock steering column if he puts a v8 in it!

A pic of the '40 Chevy coupe that I had owned since HS days. Sold it a few years ago. New owner is putting a MII in it.
