This is my newest toy......a '63 Galaxie 500 2dr post. It has a 420 hp 390, built C6, 389 gears. Bench seat, all original dash (with a couple extra gauges under the dash), altogether a very nice, very stout Ford.
I know the man that built the car, have known him for over 40 years. I've known this car for over 10 years. I'm embarrassed to say that I can't remember the cam specs, but the 390 is .040 over, 10:1 compression, with extensive machine work done to the heads. I just got it yesterday. the whole deal went down in a hurry. I was surprised it was offered to me, and jumped at the chance. I'll get all the pertinent info as soon as the weekend is over. I know this car, have ridden in it many times, and it's a beast. I'm happy I got the chance to own it, and the details, in my case were secondary to all the first-hand knowledge I have of how the car runs.
Man! you people get some really BIG cans of beer there in Colorado! Does it use Coors for the antifreeze also?
Nope, one extra step. Goes in Coors comes out antifreeze... Those big Galaxies are bitchen! That's a real nice car.
