I'm running a flathead 8BA with aluminum Edelbrock heads. I am wondering what sparkplug might be the best choice for this set up. I[ve been told that the champion #271RC12YC would work but Im also running an Isky Max 1 cam and dual Stromberg 97s. Any input? Thanks.

Champions only seem to work well in lawn mowers these days. I stopped using them for anything else back in the early 80s. Unless you can find some NOS ones I would use some other brand.

Thanks the NGKs seem to get the most votes. I was told the plug has to clear the aftermarket heads but this may or may not be an issue.

  6. I've ran champion sparkplugs HC 10 since 07 till today. I haven't had any trouble with them. Maybe its just good luck..But the heads on the 39 are stock..

Yes to NGK; H10 is also too short a reach, to put the electrode onto the combustion chambers. Be sure to check that, and NGK has correct reach plugs close to the H10 heat range.
