I'm 43 yrs old and have been messing with cars since I was 15. Mostly GM. I have come across a '47 Plymouth 2 dr. It has been completely stripped down and painted(10+ yrs ago and then put in a barn due to a tragic family accident(the story I have been told) The price is right so I should be going to get in in a month or so. I have been told the paint is still great(dusty/dirty)It is a complete car minus the motor and trans, just in pieces... nothing is assembled. All the parts go with. NO RUST!!! I really don't know any more at this time. Hoping in a week or two to run out and take a look at it to see what I am in for. I really have no idea what direction I am going to take this. My current toy has been an 05 GTO with just over 500 hp, so it will be kind of nice to get back to some old school tinkering. This is the only pic I was given and its dark due to the barn.
Welcome from Decatur! A co-worker had a 47 Plymouth four door many years ago that we used as a security car. It was very reliable and a blast to drive. Best of luck! Rusty
Welcome from Pekin------ oops Florida. Used to pass thru Plainfield everyday for years. Remember a 56 hemi in a field after the big tornado passed thru. The car ended up in another field.
Greetings from behind the "Great Corn Curtain" in Champaign. I'm with you as I have just got back into some old school tinkering with a 1953 Olds 98. Good luck and keep us posted!
Welcome from nearby Romeoville land of warehouses. There are a number of Hamb members around here. Check out the Southwest Chicago Hamb and Eggs breakfast post in the Social Clubs area. We currently meet at Chucks in beautiful downtown Burbank but are contemplating moving to Chucks in Darien on Cass just North of I-55.
