A close family friend has 2 Morgan 3 wheelers, some of my fondest memories as a child were the motorcycle rallies that I got to ride in them with him instead of the rumble seat of the family Auburn, big J.A.P overhead, wood frame and a mad man behind wheel.

Thanks for the pic! Fortunately, I only have to build the shell.

No new pictures of Morgan work today.

Thought I would post a picture to illustrate why my wife and I left Iowa and moved to Georgia this year.

I still do not have a new workshop in Georgia. A contractor has been hired to build a new shop, but for 6 months it has not stopped raining. We are way behind schedule.

For the moment the light duty work is done in my basement. The dirty work is done in a shop in Atlanta that a friend has generously let me use. I have cars and equipment in both places.

No, I do not miss the snow.

Not sure if I would include the person who led you to this project in the catagory of a friend any longer!!

He is a great friend, but has provided this addict his drug of choice a few too many times.

I would hope that doesn't end up being the case. This is based on a 27 Morgan, it's a fabrication tech thread, it's definitely traditional, and this kind of thread is one of the main reasons that a large number of members come to this site... These are the types of thread I add as a favorite all the time.

Exactly! It meets all the criteria, and how many people really know what a Morgan is? I only thought they had 4 wheels until my customer brought the one to me I built the body on! They are a piece of history for sure.

Jerry, I was told you showed at the vintage road races at Put-in-Bay. If you did, I'm sure sorry I missed the chance to meet you. Did you see any of the races? I came in dead last in the all-Morgan 3-wheeler race in our stock Matchless-engined 1936 Super Sports. Those small Fords with IOE Willment heads are pretty quick! Kermit Wilson let me drive his 1935 F2 on the street and it is pretty quick for having only 1172 ccs. Dave Hodgson, visiting from England, started last but shot ahead of the pre-war MGs in Kermit's car and Fred Sisson won the second race in his '38 F2.

Ryan has thoughtfully provided an alternative for builds that may not fit the HAMB criteria. Check out www.dogfightmag.com. Hope to see this build (and the skills of so many HAMBers) on display there soon!

I live in the hills near Rome. Far enough from neighbors that the Revenoors won't smell the still.

I have 2 Hendersons, so I must suck twice as much.

    A 1923 and 1926 Deluxe.

There was a time when no one wanted them.

I was at the AMCA meet in Davenport Iowa over Labor Day weekend.
An optomist had his 1923 for sale for $85k.

I guess not only Ferrari owners are getting rich.

    Duncan,
I spent all day Wednesday at the races.

I have been racing since 1984. Put In Bay is the first real "vintage" event I have been to!
Hay bales instead of Armco and concrete. Great time, Great location.

After the day at PIB I went to AMCA meet in Iowa.

    Got back to GA Sunday.

2500 miles in five days, now back to work on the Morgan.

Made turning dies today for my old Niagra Bead Roller. Pictures of my wire edging efforts will be up soon.

Taking time off to play is really exhausting.

Buzznut, my build is a 1927 Morgan imported into the USA in 1964. Like so many old British cars, it suffered from neglect, absence of spare parts and an enthusiastic owner who thought he could put it back together after he took it apart for repairs. He died before completing the task.

I do appreciate any and all support of this type of thread.

As an unrepentent car nut, I enjoy looking at all of the build threads.
I am not a car snob and though I may not have a 40 Ford, I still enjoy pressing my nose against the glass.

The feed back, positive and negative, helps me move forward.

After a careful reading of rules and the new direction of HAMB, I do not think the intent is to prevent this type of thread.
If wrong, I am not offended.
I am here at the pleasure of the owner of the site.

I will still enjoy visiting here.

This is an amazing thread and I sure hope it gets to stay here. You literally started out with a shell and a few buckets of bolts. Its no small task to get this thing back together again...it really gives me inspiration to get out and start spinning wrenches on my stuff. Subscribed for sure!!!

Nope... This is the sidebar I was talking about earlier. This post stays.

  27. LOL :D I'm up in Winder- you should come out to Brad54's swap meet this Sat at the dragstrip in Commerce!

Glad to see that your thread, and others like it, are staying. Lots of great craftsmanship and ideas (what lead me to the HAMB in the first place)- thanks Ryan!

Made the annual AMCA Davenport Iowa trip last weekend.

Just wanted you all to see that Hot Rods go with just about everything.

You might notice the Henderson parts in the foreground.

    No Morgan parts found.
Looking for J.A. Prestwich engine parts is seldom productive.
