My last roommate had a mental break and lost touch with reality to the point I moved out of my own apartment. The manager and I started eviction stuff, but a couple days later he was wondering around the complex with a golf club and seemingly having a "good day" compared the most around that time.

He threatened a cable guy who didn't stop and give him job info and then threatened some college girl who lived there. She called the cops. By the time they showed, he was back in the apt. I was talking to the rookie and his TO while they tried to get him to open the door. He got mad and hit the inside of the door with his golf club. It was loud enough that the rookie thought it was a gun shot. Rookie opened fire sending ten rounds through the front door while running back to his car calling in shots fired and barracaded subject. This brought out everybody. Every sheriff, SWAT and the local news teams.

I was still standing there after getting hit with the spent shells Sheriff Rookie fired off before hiding behind my car in the driveway when everyone else showed up.

Roommie finally came back out, seemingly forgetting he just called shot at. The SWAT had by this time been hiding in the shrubs in front of the apartment and had snipers on the roof. It was fun watching them using their little mirrors on a stick to see what he was doing through the windows. They popped out of the shrubs and shot him four times with rubber bullets and took him to the local looney bin for observation.

No one could figure out how he didn't get shot as that cop ventilated the apartment. I had bullet holes in the fridge and water heater on opposite ends of the apartment. They couldn't find a gun even though I told them he didn't have one. Roommie hit the inside doorknob so hard with that golf club, it was smashed. The entire door and door jam moved by the super loud impact, so I am not surprised jumpy Sheriff Rookie got to blasting.

My '65 Impala was cover for the cops, it's hood became a work table for filling out reports and recording evidence. Until, I finally had to go to work and asked to leave. They had to remove their stuff off my car, move four cruisers and the SWAT RV so I could get out while two guys lifted the police tape for me to drive under. The local news reporters and cameramen were chasing me down the street to get an interview as I drove off to work.

Everyone I ever gave my phone number must've seen it on the news because I had fifty phone messages on my machine when I got home.

Good thing you aren't in Los Angeles! The LAPD would have put at least 187 rounds into it, then crushed it with a tank. Not anti cop per se', but VERY leery of the LAPD.

I came home from work and discovered cops all over the neighborhood. As I pulled up to my house, there was a cop and cruiser parked across the street. The cop called me over and said they were looking for 4 male blacks that had burglarized a house. He pointed to my house and said one of the suspects had been hiding under a car. My car......

I thought please don't let it be my house. Turns out, it was my neighbor's house, who happens to be the riches guy in my neighborhood. An hour later, I went to my neighbor's house amd all 4 suspects were in custody. The cops had all of the loot displayed inviting neighbors to look for their property. Our local cops are really good and catching the bad guys.

Very similar thing happened to me. Heard people out side. Looked out the window and my house was surrounded by the swat team. Turns out my neighbor was depressed and the cop that ended his life took the faithful shot off the roof of my 55 safari wagon. Will never forget that day.

My "Significant other" wanted a self protection pistol. I got her a shotgun just like that cop's and taught her how and WHEN to use it! Interesting, your cop still has hair. Around here all the young ones shave their heads to look like Billy Badasses. ROFL.

I have a conventional pump 12GA, but brought a double barrel Coach Gun (20" barrels, outside hammers) because it looks great on the wall ! (And convenient.)

I was living in Sacramento, CA at the time. The po-po were having a good year shooting suspects. One got shot off the roof of the downtown library and one got into the offices of state board of equalization with a gun(I don't know what they do, don't ask) thinking it was the franchise tax board. He was pissed about his tax returns. He was up near the 15th floor when the swat guys found him and had it out. News channels got great footage of the 15th floor being blown out by bullets.
