I am sorry if this isn't HAMB friendly...and hoping it is not against the rules of this fine forum... but a fellow car enthusiast had his beautiful 62 Corvette stolen while staying at a bed & breakfast in Pacific Grove, California while attending the Rolex Motorsports Re-union festivities on August 17th, 2013... The 1962 has a very distinctive cowl on it's hood and unique mag wheels on the front tires... http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c1-...16-1962-corvette-stolen-in-pacific-grove.html It is believed this may have been the action of professionals as the 1961 Chevy SS Impala convertible with an estimated value of $220,000 was stolen a few blocks away... http://www.kionrightnow.com/story/2...stolen-after-auction-during-monterey-car-week Because these cars are so highly identifiable it is believed they maybe delivered to a port to be shipped overseas... Members of the Corvette Forum have been asked to spread the word to other automotive & hot rod forums and other popular sites on the net... Thank you very much for your assistance in this matter... From the owner...
Wow. I would say that was a professional hit. I hope they find the car. Way too many times is this happening near and and around car show venues. I don't think anyone will have a problem with you posting it here the more eyes on this the better. Jay
Gone in 60 seconds! Pro thieves were probably in the neighborhood due to the high profile event you were attending. Sorry to hear it and I hope some HAMBer spots it for you real soon for you.
They are bold, in this story they stole a truck and a trailer to steal the car with. http://classiccars.com/articles/article_lojack_20120712.aspx
Both the Corvette and the 59 ragtop sound like the work or thieves with master keys and a waiting enclosed trailer a very short distance away. The biggest problem is that on that particular weekend someone loading an enthusiast car into a trailer on a side street wouldn't draw a whole lot of attention unless someone happened to take a few photos of the car being loaded just because of the car it happened to be. Anyone that was there remember taking or seeing such a photo? Or seeing it in the background of a photo?
Hey Guy's, I am the owner of the '62 Vette that was stolen last weekend. I appreciate the comments listed here, and most importantly the gentleman who originally posted it for me. I'm still trying to keep up hope that the car will be found! Thanks for keeping a lookout for this car! Pat Monahan (916) 719-9442
I wish you the best and hope the low down no good cowardly sons a bitches get caught or get justice. Takes a real piece of shit to steal a mans ride.
