    Hi all,

I have a 65 GMC that I put a late 60s 283 into. It is ready to fire and wants to start. Before I fully commit and possible ruin the engine, I have an issue. The oil squirts rapidly out of a port on the engine right behind the distributor. I do not want to commit thinking something may be clogged and I do not know what this port is. The oil squirts against the firewall and straight down off of the transmission. I am thinking something is not hooked up correctly or this needs to run to the valve covers or is blowing off pressure because of a clog.

Can someone help me out with this issue?

    Thanks,
    Mark:confused:

Port for oil pressure switch is open. Plug it with a sender or an 1/8" pipe plug.:D

That is where most people attach the Oil sending unit, Or The oil line for a mechanical Oil pressure guage.

This is where the the oil presure line originates from. You need to plug it. Probably missing either the line connection or plug.

That port is probably where the oil pressure sending unit is suppose to be installed.

Sounds like the oil pressure switch is missing

Thanks all. I was leaning that way. I was hoping it would be for the oil pressure. It semed odd to me that oil would be shooting out in that area. I appreciate everyones assistance in confirming.
