It was built for salesmen in mind. They put their sales kit behind the seat and a trunk big enough to sleep in. lol.
I think your right! I titled it wrong. Sorry about that. I thought they were all called club coupe's without the rear seat.
It is a business coupe. Very cool. Are those mid-50s Mopar wires on it? Also looks like original paint?
Very interesting looking car, tho it does have an odd look. It looks like the grille was an afterthought, not as nice as the 46-48's. I'm a MOPAR guy (have a '39 and '46 Ply Business Coupe), but I've never seen a '42 Dodge Business Coupe. I'm thinking they must be quite rare? I'd like to see what it would look like with skirts and slammed....
If I didn't have so many projects (at my age), I'd be all over that. (I'd keep it stock, visor and all!)
Not sure, been wondering that myself. Maybe the lowers were added? With as much quirky as it has it wouldn't shock me.
Found a pic of a business coupe on the 'net that shows just one tail-light per side. Not a very big pic, but can tell there's only one light/side. Maybe the PO had some reservations about soccer moms & cell phones.
I imagine that someone added the extra tail lights, because the only brake light is the one on the trunk. The other two are just running lights/turn signals. Seems a better solution might've been to change the wiring. Those Dodge business coupes sure had a long butt, huh? And massive trunk space. Here's a nice '47
