Well all this past week I have been helping my girlfriends parents renovate and move into their new house. As a thank you from them I was given the pile of magazine's from the basement. There was a mix of hunting gardening house renovation and a few adult mags of the over 40 age bracket. But there are around 200 car mags. Some of which are car craft from the early 60's. And there was a book from 1946 on the maintenance and repair of carter carbs. But the sweetest thing I think is a page from somewhere on the proper method tuning your race hemi. I have not yet scratched the surface of awesome reading.
Well I have gone through the first stack and the were all car and parts magazine. Most were all junk but there was a interesting article about a junk yard that was being shut down and crushed. I scanned it for all to read.
Well I have finished the sort of the magazines. There are some sweet stuff like car craft from 1963 through 1970. popular hot-rodding and street rodder as well. I will be selling some as I am not interested.
I may be interested in some late 60's CC. They ran a series of plans to build your own t bucket from (I believe) around Sep '67 through the final feature Feb '68. I could be totally wrong, but I wouldn't mind getting a hold of the one w/ the frame plans since my dad built my T from those issues back then. Keep me in mind please. Thx
Well as I go through I have started to separate the ones that I want to keep. I am not going to keep many but there are some cool ones. Here is an article from Custom rodder August 1982 on how to chop a Merc.
I have gone through the mags and have found there are 3 copies of Super Chevy. One is the first issue spring 1973. they are now up in the classifieds.
But it's FUNNY on so many others... I remember when I got a load of old rodding mags from my cousin. The entire club sat around reading "car porn" for weeks, often til after midnight & we all had to go to work in the am. Enjoy them all!
