Great website guys, my name is Matt, I appreciate just about all styles of Custom Cars and Motorcycles. I was born and raised going to Car shows ever since I was little. Sorta helped my Dad build a 1939 Chevy two door sedan into a hot rod. We traveled to all sorts of NHRA, NSRA, and Goodguys cars shows. We went all over the US, from the local NSRA in Pueblo Colorado, to driving around Indy for our first Goodguys car show. My Dad dedicated alot of time helping guys get their projects off the ground from custom car parts, and towards the end mainly rear-ends and axles, he was a incredible Machinist. My brother's and I are building our own projects these days. I own a 1937 Chevy 1/2 ton pickup, and a inherited 1972 Chevy K5 Blazer. I was a little lost and my brother told me about the HAMB, it is a great resource for enthusiasts and car builders. Thanks -Matt
I'll try this again, signal went bye bye. Welcome fellow Kansan. That's cool, nothing like building with your dad. I sure miss mine. I just spotted a '72 K5 this morning. Wouldn't have any '34 chevy parts by chance?
Great intro , Welcome to the HAMB from NC Oklahoma. Sounds like you have found the right road to travel .
Yup, axleman...thought it was a pretty good name. Funny thing you mention a 34' my Dad had one. (Along with that two 47' COE cabs, and the chassis.) The 34' sat in the garage ever since I could remember. Great car, 400 small block Chevy, with a caddy independent rear end. He tore the solid front axle out and did a trade for a mustang-II front suspension parts. We had a bunch of parts, like all things though at that time, we got some bad advice from a wolf in a sheep's clothing. Because of the difficult moveable condition it was in we sold it to a friend of ours. At least the friend has intentions to make her road-worthy again. Wish I could get it back, or at minimum the 39' Dad had to sell long ago. Posted using the Full Custom H.A.M.B. App!
I guess life is full of should of could of's. Had to sell my '57 chevy when my morgare rate went up, a month later I finaly sold the truck I needed to sell to make up the differance. Been kicken my self in the ass ever since, but you have to take care of business!
Welcome from Topeka. I've also got a '37 Chevy pickup that I'll be building here shortly. Good luck to you on yours.
