I recently made a deal on this car. I'm trying to find out who built it and maybe even find a picture or two. I plan on restoring it if i can find the proper info. It allegedly ran in North Central Kansas and South Central Nebraska. Based on the style of build it is probably post war, pre 1955. Any lead no matter how small would be greatly appreciated.

Is that a late 40's Kaiser Hood, used as the tail section?

Someone on here should have that book and a way to scan it. Does it say where its taken or any other info at all? Maybe a photo credit. Something?

38 ford standard parts aren't that popular so a front end shouldn't cost too much.Superior is close to Lincoln,I'll bet Speedy Bill would know some history on the car[if he doesn't try to buy it first!!lol]

WOW! Talk about "The Power o fthe HAMB", that sure is a fast ID on an old race car. Good luck with the restoration. That is an odd looking car, and deserves to be restored to show what that type of car looked like. Bob

Adam, there is also a guy named Bob Mays that has a few books out about midwest racing. Should be able to find his email on the web. He's from Lincoln so that would be from his neck of the woods. That car is awesome. I restored a super modified a few years ago but nothing compared to that one. Do you know any of the Fairbank's in Cimarron. I'm one of them and my wife is from there. Kim

My first thought was it was butt ugly. After seeing the complete car I have to change my mind. Great find.

See guys....parts made from re-bar really are traditional. Here's your proof:D

What a great find. I hope Bill remembers the car, and maybe has more pictures.

Congratulations on finding the old track roadster. I believe it is a 38 standard front end.

No idea why I typed deluxe It is 38 standard, the 38 has the longer vents in the hood sides.

Bob works for Speedy Bill. I'm going to the museum Friday. If I see Bob I will ask him.

You may want to contact the guys at the High Banks Hall of Fame in Belleville, KS. They have info on history from that area.

Still trying to figure out what hood was used for the decklid. Keeping in mind that this class of car was ran between 1948 and 1953. I have heard 50 chevy a number of times, but those cars/trucks would have been brand new when this car was built. So its unlikely that they used a new car part.
