I was very very sorry to hear of the passing of virginia kustom kar builder ....cecil profitt. He was a very kind and decent man who did his best to re boot the kustom movement all his life. Rip cecil.
Oh man, that's sad to hear. I always liked Cecil's cars because he wasn't copying what everybody else was building. RIP, Cecil.
Being from the mid-west, I always knew when I saw a car built by him. I loved all three shoebox`s he built, the silver 51 Merc he brought to Iowa in 82 and the VW bug that he made to look like a 40`s custom with a carson top. Then there are the cars that I am forgetting. The yellow shoebox was in the swimsuit issue of Hot Rod. Rest in Peace.
Sad, he was a fixture on the East Coast during the custom revival in the 80's. Built some cool cars. RIP, Cecil!
I always liked the cars he built. Me and a friend were talking about a few of his cars just a few days ago. A real bummer. My condolences to all his family and friends. Vaya con Dios Cecil..........E
