i am 27 or 28. good lord the beer is getting me to much right now...time to go work in the shop...

 

Just go to any car show or cruise in my area and you will see why I voted for 40-60 and you can include me in that group.

 

My body is 57....ish but my spirit is still learnin to shave. I had my first custom when I was 19 (dropped and raked 64 T-Bird) helped co found an 53-56 F100 club in SoCal at the age of 22. Still driving a 54 F100 Panel. I'm willing to admit it's a sickness for which I hope there no cure. I think this rodding virus will spread to our youth if we are willing to teach them as our elders taught us when we first got infected.

I've been thinking, and I know more rodders in my 40-60 group... But maybe that's b/c those are just the guys I hang out around...

37 , but closer to 38. Been a traditional rod/custom guy since I was 15.

 

The poll almost proves it,old guys rule.

 

I'm 63 and can still get under the car, I just need a little help getting back out.

 

Im 58 ,have friends in the hobby 30 to 70 plus

 

I'm 62 - had to take the '50 to a Quik Lub to get a grease job - can't do that anymore -back is shot! But I'm still cruisin.

 

I'm 60. Have friends my age and older still working on the old cars. Fortunate that both my sons enjoy working on my fifty with me and want to get there own projects.

 

I turned 24 a few months ago, have been building a late 40's era Model A Roadster since i was about 20.. have been driving a slammed '75 Holden Kingswood since i was 16.

A few of my friends are into old cars, but mostly 60s - 70's stuff. Some would love to have a hot rod but none have the skills, or the place to build such a car.

I only know one kid whos got a Model A Coupe and he probably only has that because his old man owns a rod shop about 2 hours away. Never met him but seen the car once and some photos pop up on the net from time to time..

I'll be 69 shortly and started with this madness when I bought a '40 2dr at 12 years old. I've owned over 200 cars/trucks in the meantime (not all drivers of course) and have always prefered the traditional style. Got semi-lost for a few in the 60's going drag racing but having a '32 5w lurking in the back of my mind helped retain my sanity.
When I was in high school I met an old guy about 70 that had a flathead powered T roadster. He was the first one to tell me "it's never too late to have a happy childhood".

I'm 50. My dad is still going strong at 77. His latest is a little T roadster running a B Banger.

I'm 51 now.....hard to believe it has gone fast....I still love to builds though, hope that never goes away.....

 

I'm 31.

 

I'm 66 and have been doing the hot rod thing since I was 14. I don't see any and in sight. Only time I'm happy is when I have 2 or 3 projects going at once. It makes for slow building due to spreading the money around, but what the hell.

24 here, nothing has ever gotten me like the traditional hot rod scene, I have been in to cars all my life down to the point that at the age of two my mom said I would sit in the bath tub and pretend to be driving and shifting gears lol, I have had a few muscle cars but the hot rod bug bit me and I'm infected for life. I don't have a single friend my age so to say the least everyone I hang out with is on average 20 years or more older than me

 

I am 68, still building' started at about 10. I learned to weld before I was 12. I hope to die with more than one unfinished project!

 

I'm 18 and hang out with guys all over the age spectrum. Just got a younger buddy hooked. Go around to all the local shows and I'm the youngest guy there driving my own car.

73.... Started learning to weld about 14 or 15, worked at welding 50+ years, still learning.... Built my first engine (flathead) in 1961 or 62, glued everything together with a ton of Permatex, (didn't want any leaks). I really feel sorry for any poor sucker that might have tried to work on that engine after me...

 

30Fordnerd is lying about his age to partake 'o' the HAMB.

 

Wow,... looks like the majority of us are on either 2nd and 3rd base,.... or passing 3rd base heading for home....... Looks like we better try to help out the rookies in batting practice if the old game is to survive....... IMHO.....
