If you haven't noticed I have a thing for holes. I love them, and to me they say hot rod/ race car. I also like the challenge of laying them out and figuring out spacing and all the math that's involved with it.

So I swiss cheesed the doors out. They were too heavy to lift on and off the car doing the chop anyway.

These show the shifter (old P&G mopar handle), early mustang seats, and Schroeder steering wheel that are going to be used in the car.

My dad bought a chopped 32 5 window body when I was like 10. God I wanted that car, but it was a real mess. He ended up selling it on ebay, but kept most of the good parts off it. One of them was this 32 shell and insert. He gave it to me (or I took it, I don't remember :D), but it was off a heavily channeled car. So I fixed it with cut pieces I bought off here and some that are off of my friend Vince's bonneville roadster's shell.

I didn't want to just buy a v'd spreader bar. So I took some rear model a wishbones we had laying around and drilled and sleeved them. I had the system down pat and these were a breeze compared to the actual wishbones on the car.

I have a good story for the moon tank on the car too. I bought it off of ebay a year or two ago. It was an original with the spring clamps. I got a message from the guy saying it was never used. He bought it for his 55 Chevy, but got called to Vietnam. I don't know if it is true or not, but when I got it the inside was clean and dry and it looks mint.

I finally decided to mount the wishbones for good, instead of c clamps. I came up with these teardrop mounts.

You guys have been seeing this car with M/T wheels on the front and americans on the back. Those are going to be on there most of the time. I also have a set of 7.50/16 & 4.50/16 firestones on 40 ford wheels, along with a set of firestone dirt tracker rears and ribbed fronts on 40 ford wheels. And I just acquired a set of 18" rear and 16" front firestone indy car tires. Im on the lookout for some high clearance wheels.

All the wheels have the same back spacing and early ford pattern so I will be able to switch when wanted.

I wasn't going to have a back seat, so I made a simple plywood deck that from the seat riser to the rear subrail of the body. Then made the little hump to cover the model a crossmember.

Fantastic work so far - love the styling and attention to detail. If I had a sedan or coupe I'd fill it full of holes too.

Good luck getting it wrapped up in time for the salt.

That is one Badass hotrod! Subscribed.
I'm curious who you bought your wood from and how you like the fit? As its one of the first jobs I plan on tackling on my Tudor.
