Hey guys need to know if im wasting my time or not. Im cutting out the entire floor in my chopped 49 plymouth. I spent most of last sunday removing an interior from a 64 T bird. I like the a styling and will prob modify the back seat somewhat. Just took all the covering and foam off the lower fram of the back seat and it is rusty. I think I can save it and will probably end up changing a few things.

Take a look at the pics. Am I wasting my time trying to fix/modify the frame? Or should I just show up to the upholstery shop and let them build it out of mdf or whatever?

depends on how it sits with the chopped roof line...does it sit low enough with foam installed

Save it you can modify it to a larger extent than you might think. Plus an upholstery Shop can foam it and shape it to your preferred desire.

Yes , save it. Seats are made of metal , metal can be shaped and welded. Springs don't like welding but can be reshaped , cut down. Just to throw a little more to think about you can cut down high back buckets also. Jack
