1963 is a 1 yr only motor. I don't think that the 49-62 intakes bolt on. That motor was more like the 425 than the earlier 331,365,390. Don't know for sure as I have never owned one.
Whays up look for old Edmunds speed parts they made a nice duel quad intake. you can modify it to take 600 cfm performer carbs by making adapter plates. the intakes used old square flange four jet carbs.
You can make the earlier intakes fit with slight modifications...this is what i've been told...never attempted...also been told that the 63 mill weighs about 150lbs less than the 59-62 390's....
How 'bout a 6x2 intake? You don't have to run it on all 6. Just 4 will work fine, and other 2 will set there and look cool. Contact me if interested. Steve
I've got a factory dual quad setup with carbs and some of the linkage that I'm willing to sell. It came off of a stock '55-'56 Cad Eldorado 365 ci motor. I figure it's worth 600.00. I've been reading the other responses and they are correct in that the '63 motor is a little different. It was the only motor in that series (331/365/390) that had the distributor up front like the later 429 motor that came out in '64. I don't know if it will bolt right up or not. BBendtsen
