I just picked up an old military ambulance. It runs and has only 12,000 miles on it. I got it with a bill of sale. Does anybody know if military vehicles ever have actual titles or how to obtain one. I'm in Missouri. It was a Missouri National Guard truck, then donated to a county for civil defense. After many years of non use it was sold to a private individual and I traded for it last night. I'm not sure who to contact or how to find info on obtaining a title...if it's even possible.
Contact your state Department of Motor Vehicles. Every state is different. Michigan used to be one of the easiest to obtain title. I did several, never titled, ex-military vehicles. Now that is all changed..
How old is it? M880, M715, M43, WC54? You have to trailer it to Jeffeson City and have the Highway Department inspect it and go through a bonding process. It's often easier to go through an out-of-state option like Broadway Title.
I was thinking the Highway Patrol would have to inspect it and issue a state VIN for it, kind of like for a home built hot rod. it's an M725 Jeep ambulance
