I'm a long time lurker and attended the H.A.M.B. drags at Mo-Kan last year for the first time! I was blown away with the quality and number of rides! I grew up about 40 miles from Mo-Kan and it was the first dragstrip that I ever went to as a teenager so it holds a special place in my heart. I have a '63 Dodge 330 that I rescued from a farmer back in the mid-90's and shoved in the back of Dad's barn for a few years while I played with a '71 'Cuda. I sold the 'Cuda recently and put all my focus on the '63 since it was always my favorite. It's a 440/727/3.55 combo with A-100 seats, radio and heater delete and black with a red interior. I've done 90% of the work myself with the exceptions being the upholstery and machine work on the engine. I'm finishing up headliner and carpet in the next couple of weeks and hope to have it terrorizing the neighborhood this fall!
I have 15x8 steelies to go on the back to replace the gawd awful cop rims. Just haven't gotten the tires mounted yet.
Welcome from Emporia, Kansas ! My first car was a Dodge 330 that I raced every weekend at Wichita drag strip in the early 70`s
Cool! I plan on taking this one out to KID but it will probably be next year. I recently got the windshield and gasket and discovered that the headliner really needs to go in first so that and carpet are on order and should be here any day. It's been a comedy of errors trying to get the right windshield gasket here and get it installed! It is kinda fun to drive at 100 mph with the windshield out, though! LOL!
Never did that. In the early seveties the 63 wasnt that old and had never had the windshield out yet.
Welcome from California. I use to have a 64 Plymouth sport fury in the 70`s loved that car.....sold it for $350 in 1979 .
Funny. I bought mine for $275.00. Of course the only bolt on panels that are original to it is the passenger door and the trunk lid. Mine started life as a teal/teal slant 6 car with a 3 on the tree. The old farmer I bought it from was using the trunk to store dog food.
Welcome from SC Oklahoma! My little brother - Hedge12 here on the HAMB - and several of my sisters - live in Wichita, grew up a little ways south-west of there.
