  3. I have american family and there is no mileage limits and I have full coverage, glass and even roadside. Its only 65 bucks a month, part is because I have multiple policy's with them. ( if my cars value bumps above 20k it will go up to 75 bucks)

    I drive my 53 a few days a week.

you have to experience the Bay Area commute to fully undestand. there is nothing to enjoy no matter what you drive. 4 or 5 lanes of freeway, and stop and go for the whole drive. it is rare to get up to the speed limit for more than a few hundred feet.

I drive mine everyday, except rain, but having to pop out to check on it sucks. My thinking is, having been in an accident, if it's going to happen, it's just a matter of time. My route in the hot rod isn't the same I'd take in my daily. Hey, I'm not THAT hard core.;)

  7. I drove my Merc to work for 5yrs,til I got the '38 Pick-up. Then it was the Skylark,and now it's the '60 F100.

The shop truck has been sold, but before that, the guys would drive it when they went to lunch, and for nearby parts runs once in awhile. Admittedly, they'd usually park it right in front of the building, so it wasn't like it was in a far-off parking lot, out of sight.

  12. I office out of my home, but many times, when I go to the office in Branson (about 45 miles away), I will take one of the '40s.

Sorry for being an attention slut, but here are several shots from "work road-trips" that I did in my hotrods.

If anybody from the Phoenix Gang sees this they'll laugh! A favorite moment in time from right at about 20 years ago now, when I had my family's Sewing Machine and Vacuum Businesses here in Phoenix. I drove the Plymouth or my dropped Falcon everyday, every where and still do. I hate late model cars...

By the way, the picture was taken by my then 12 year old nephew as a class project and won an award for him.

I was drivingg my truck 2-3 times a week, but have backed off due to the summer heat. Its 33 miles each way - and a nice drive except for the last few miles of traffic.. The heat sitting in traffic lights for the last few miles means I arrive covered in sweat. I have a toll tag and drive it 70 without issue. I also keep full coverage insurance so that I wont have any restrictions. Im not worried about cops - but I dont think restricted classic insurance would pay if they found I used it for daily service.

Here are a couple of photos of my drive in -

  16. LOL, Brett, I think the OP said a pic of your car at YOUR work place not mine. ;) Brett parked in my space that day....usually the Merc sits there. LOL

  17. Yeah, Dr Dave. I guess you are right, but I was getting paid for "working" and was travelling due to my "work" for each of those shots that I posted, so that has to count towards something.

If ya wanna go further with mine, that was just one business. From '98-'2003 I worked for a corporate sewing company that had several store in Phoenix, the closest of which was 20 miles one way from my home. When I received a promotion to corporate and an office in Cleveland, OH., I was also handed the keys to company car that I quickly handed right back ("Sorry, I don't drive late model cars..."). My Plymouth made many, many trips to and from Cleveland when there was time to drive it, and to the East coast when I was in that territory.

From 2003 to 2008 I worked for a company that sold Insurance specifically for R.Vers, and my Territory was Yuma AZ in the winter months (180 miles one way from my home) and Washington state in the summer. A typical day driving the Plym in the winter would be leave home about 6:00am, drive around Yuma all day and do calls, then Drive back home at night. Summer started on July first driving up to WA., then running up and down the coast until about Sept. 15th. Let's just say it's racked up about 250,000 miles since that picture above was snapped!

I bet they are still talking about that comment. I can hear them now "What is a late
Model?" Very Kool! that is funny!

Every day. Except winter. Now that I have electric wipers, it doesn't suck in the rain.

Thanks, I think... Might want to copy and keep that picture for the next time I go off on a rant about how much I hate wide whitewalls!

  25. No pictures but I drive mine every day. The problem is that I live only 4 miles from work so sometimes I take the long way home. :p

Yup, for sure, and the only thing slower, is mass-transit.

    I drove my current daily for 2+ years....back in 04/05 , all I drove was hot rods....

after looking at some of the post its funny how stuff happens.....like running out of gas a little over a mile from the exit. sprinting up the expressway , while the coupe is sitting on the side of the road...... and no one even stopped:D ran out of gas 1/2 mile from my house and had all kinds of people text and call me....good times..lol
