Pretty sure there was a company called Culbert Engineering that built dirt car chassis many years ago. With that logo in the frame rails, although backwards for some reason, I wonder if this is one of their chassis.
What's the wheelbase? Hard to tell dimensions from the pics. If it has 70s" wb it would be a midget, if it's 80s"wb it would be a sprint car. Late 1930s-early 1950s. It's not a Culbert (CAE) car.
Thanks for the replies. And forgive me for not introducing myself. Grew up in Indy and love race cars of all kinds. Flyboy by profession. Love anything that goes fast. The car in the photos is a midget and that's about all we know. One historian said it looks like a California built Solar. Another said it is a one-off. Just trying to learn whatever we can.
All the Solars I've seen had kickups over the rear axle. The nose looks 30s style, the tail more 40s-50s. My guess is it was a 30s car that was updated over time. Probably home built.
thats my grand dads car, we've been looking all over for it, forgot we left it i that old barn out west. when can you ship it out to us? LOL
