Hello to everyone! Im new to the H.A.M.B hoping to get some advice on an old project I finally decided to get started on. My Grandfather bought me a 64 Fairlane 500 260 V8 for my 14th birthday. over the years the motor and tranny have unfortunatly both taken a dump on me. I have decided to make the car a nice street cruiser, maybe lower a lil and some new wheels. Ive been looking at putting a 5.0 with an AOD tranny in it since I know it bolts in pretty easy. Just looking for any other ideas anyone may have on motor and tranny combos, or what 5.0 and tranny I should look for. I am aiming for maximum fuel economy and dependability. Any and all ideas and advice will be greatly appreciated. Thanks Guys!!!!!
