I been at the better half for years to add to my collection of "1" (51 Poncho), but she has been adament that 1 is all we need - something about a single car garage and only room for 1. Well we seen a very nice 55 Buick Special that she seems to be starting a cave on - even wanted me to take it out for a test drive - very nice, clean no rust, just faded paint and poor chrome. We're serious about picking it up. Than about a week later, my mother calls to tell me my aunt is thinking of selling my uncles 38 McLaughlin Buick and was wondering if I would be interested. He restored it from the ground up - its in pristine shape. We actually used it in our wedding 24 years ago so there is quite a sentimental attachment for both me and my wife - it would be so cool to have it for when the time comes for our daughters. Personally I love the early to mid fifties styling, but the 38 would be so cool as well. Any suggestions on which way to go ??
Ever notice "when it rains, it pours"?? Now you have sentimental value versus a more modern, more usable car. Will the Mrs go for both.....and......let you add onto the garage????
Both..you've been married for 24 years, time for the wife to cave a little ( advice from a divorced guy )
Tough choice. I googled 1938 McLaughlin Buick. Its quite a car. We only rent time on this earth, the family connection and sentimentality would dictate the 38. Anybody in the family named "Solomon" Good Luck, Pat
A family car, restored by your Uncle, used in your wedding.Your aunt offered it to you first. You really have to ask?? What you need to know is if there's enough money left to buy the other car too.
I'd go with the Buick! Really though, I searched what a 38 looked like and I'd get that without a doubt, the family connection makes it even more worth while.
Are you kiddin'?. If it looks like this one, I'm McLaughlin my ass off, 'cause the answer is obvious.
I would go for the 38, you have a personal connection with it already. That's if you cant get them both.
Go with the 38 first; documented personal history always adds value ( esp for you ) to these wonderful classics !!! Cass, alias littlemo...
This shouldn't even be a decision problem. The '38..... Duh I am all about sentimental and nostalgia.
I'd go for the 38 to keep it in the family, plus it sounds like a nice car, already done. I don't know your financial situation, or space situation but I would try like hell to get both. How cool would that be.
Ummm, they're both Buicks, he's trying to decide which one. If I'm standing in your shoes, I tell my Aunt that I'll be right over to pick up the 38. No doubt in my mind which is the better choice.
